During the 1970s, TUDOR placed increased emphasis on sporting pursuits, leading to the introduction of two dedicated sports watches for women. The first, the Princess Oysterdate, was a self-winding, waterproof timepiece featuring a calendar function—seamlessly combining durability, performance, and refined elegance.

In 1976, TUDOR unveiled the Princess Date Submariner, the brand’s inaugural divers’ watch designed specifically for women. Featuring a compact case diameter and a dial inspired by the iconic “Snowflake” design—a hallmark of TUDOR’s professional dive watches—this pioneering model marked the beginning of a series of women's tool-watches that would span the following four decades.
